This latter-day Ballad of Reading Gaol (sorry, that was Jeffrey 'Lying Tory Peer' Archer who grabbed that honour, wasn't it?) was apparently compiled over the three months that Doherty spent in prison successfully beating drugs. The Sun seems convinced there's a big battle for the honour of publishing this latter day Pensees du Lenny Godber; it doesn't seem to have occured to him that Doherty trumps round publishers offering to flog dodgy books and exclusive interviews the way other drugtossers go round every table in a pub trying to sell razor blades and batteries.
