Kanye West's stand in calling for an end to the lazy homophobia that ripples through hiphop was an indication that West sees his position as a top-selling artist as offering him an opportunity to do something a bit more than shag bitches and drink overpriced drinks. It turns out, though, that West might need to start putting his own house in order a little.
MTV's Gay TV network Logo - impressed by this support - wanted to return the favour by playing some Kanye on their network. Not the sort of market we want our artists in, they were told by Def Jam.
Patrick-Ian Polk, the man behind [logo urban show] Noah's Arc, doesn't have any beef with West himself, but issued a statement saying, "A lot of times, these requests don't make it to the artists, but [Kanye] needs to check his people, because that's not cool."
Of course, maybe Kanye would like to put his ass where his mouthaction is and do a live performance for them... meanwhile, maybe we should be asking Def Jam if there's any other people they'd like to refrain from buying their music.
