How connected is Heather with the world?

Much, much to consider following Heather Mills' extraordinary performance on the steps of the court, but perhaps the place where we shall place the tape measure to see the gap between her world and the one the rest of us live in is her reaction to the thirty-odd grand a year she'll be getting in return for providing bed and board for Beatrice:

“Beatrice gets £35,000 a year. She is meant to travel B-class when her father travels A-class."

Aside from the suggestion that a kid is going to suffer with an income that's above the UK average for, you know, a grown up who does a job, it's interesting that Heather is so used to traveling up the front of the plane she doesn't know what 'first class' and 'second class' (or, perhaps, coach or standard) are actually called.

Yeeesss.... but her father *is* Paul McCartney, and I wouldn't honestly expect to see him in standard class.

I really hope everyone involved can just get on with things now - Macca back to making great records and 'Mucca' back to.... whatever she does.

The Guardian has a transcript of her statement from the steps of the court (emphasis mine)

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2008/mar/17/law.divorce1

Mishcon [de Reya, the law firm] wanted to charge me an extra £600,000 just to do this trial, which could quite easily go to charity.

I do hope the land mines people, or whoever Mills is pretending to help this week aren't holding their breath.

Heather Mills, from November 2006, when asked by Mark Phillips of CBS News if she was "playing hardball with the divorce proceedings" to take McCartney to the cleaners...

"If I was a gold digger, I would have a lot of money in my bank account. I'd be worth millions and millions."

Heather Mills, March 2008, giving a post-court statement...

"But all in all we came out with nearly £25 million. I know you want to know the figure. I'm allowed to say this because this is the summary."

Case closed.

Listening to today's Guardian Daily Podcast, she claimed that she had "rekindled his professional flame after Linda McCartney died", but that was dismissed. Presumably his most reccent, by all account pisspoor, album was simply a ploy to defeat this claim.
