The proposed merger of
LiveNation and Ticketmaster into one single near-monopoly booking agency does have something going for it: with just one company, Live Nation Ticketmaster, to rail at, it's going to leave a fist free for waving at someone else.
So lets say that U2 tour, its promoted by Livenation, in a venue owned by livenation, and tickets are sold by ticketmaster. In the past Ticketmaster have said that they have to impose a booking fee as this is where their profit comes from. How will the excuse work now?
