Hey Simon, this is Q. They started out with Dire Straits covers in the 80's. So Paolo Nutini is just a natural progression.

Gosh that really is a shoddy-looking, half-arsed cover, isn't it? Reminds me of that completely misjudged Radio Times cover marking their 70th anniversary with an awful tacky badge with a '70' on it. You expect something with just a tiny bit of class, surely?
