Yeeessss... I'm sure I once read an interview with Alistair McGowan in which he described Victoria giving him the cold shoulder when they met, following his Posh-n-Becks sketches. And I vaguely recall hearing that she'd been furious with Ali G's inspired interview with them for Comic Relief (the one where she wore something resembling a welder's apron as Ali asked "When Brooklyn grows up, will he be a footballer like his dad, or a singer like Mariah Carey?")

Why the urge to prove she can 'laugh at herself' anyway? Doesn't she realise these celeb fly-on-the-wall shows work best when the celeb in question is completely detached from reality? The Osbournes never strived to come across as nice down-to-earth folks who spent their weekends in Ikea. Jessica Simpson was never filmed sitting down to enjoy an evening with a bottle of wine and a Tolstoy.

I'm sure this whole series would be much more watchable if, rather than showing what a lovely person she was, it chronicled her hapless struggle to be recognised in a country who still hadn't found out what she actually does.

Two words: Scott Lee.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
