POWER GETS A BIT ON THE SIDE

Unconnected with this year's Reading-Leeds festivals, Vince Power might still be feeling a little happy as he watches Clear Channel tug even harder than he did at the udders of the cash-cow: he's been given an honorary CBE. Right out the blue:

Mr Power, who is Irish, received a letter from Buckingham Palace last Friday confirming that he was in line for the honour. His award is not part of the twice-yearly honours lists - the Queen's Birthday Honours and the New Year Honours. Honorary awards, given to non-Britons, are often announced separately from those on these two lists.

Fancy that, eh?
