    Listening to 'Empires and Dance' I still can't believe that it's Simple Minds ... can't believe that one band became the aesthetic, ideological and spiritual *enemy* (not just the opposite) of what they had started as.

    I find it even harder to believe that they're still going. But don't dismiss their early work off hand: even on 'New Gold Dream' the drama is fundamentally European, and it's there for a reason.
