AIR FRANCE STOPS RAVI SHANKAR SHOWS?

Although it's not been confirmed that it's the fault of Air France's handling of them, Ravi Shankar has had two of his sitars smashed while en route from Beirut to Marseille. Shankar's convinced it's down to Air France, while the airline has released an icy empty PR statement:

When faced with this sort of incident, the company is disposed to fulfil its responsibilities.

Shankar was due to play Arles today; it's unclear if he'll be able to with his instruments in pieces. Rumours that Air France have offered to lend him a banjo and a kazoo haven't been confirmed.
