CAN'T FORGET ABOUT DRE

This news story assumes that you believe the US government is happy to torture people until they say what they believe their captors want to hear. If you don't believe that happens... well, that would mean you're Jack Straw, actually, and you might have better things to do with your time.

Human Rights Watch has produced a report detailing some of the Geneva-convention busting methods used at the Guantanamo Bay "facility" by the US captors. One detainee claimed he was made to listen to a lot of rap:

One detainee who was held last year at Guantanamo says he was forced to listen to music from Eminem and Dr. Dre for 20 days.

It had the desired effect, too - after nearly a solid month of listening to Eminem he confessed to killing his girlfriend by putting her in the boot of his car and driving off a bridge, and sent investigators to look for the body of Dr Dre in his basement.

Actually, not quite - after Eminem came something else:

After that, the detainee says the rap was replaced by what he calls "horrible ghost laughter" and other scary sounds.

Blimey. Whatever you feel about the war on Terror, suyrely there's no excuse for playing the Fred Durst sex tape to anybody.
