CLIFF FACES FUTURE

Despite stories which appeared in the ever-reliable Daily Mail earlier in the week, Cliff Richard isn't thinking of giving up music. The Mail announced Cliff - real name The Peter Pan of Pop - had taken umbrage at never hearing his songs on the radio, and was going to retire to his luxury homes and sulk:

"I just don't want to go to all the effort of putting something together if people won't even give it a chance," he said, according to the newspaper.

No such luck, says his promotions manager Lisa Davis:

"Cliff was having a pop at radio stations that don't play him, but there are plenty that do support him," she said. "He was A-listed at Radio 2 for five weeks in May."

So, that Christmas hook-up with G4, covering Miss You Nights is going ahead as planned. It's hard to believe that people might leap to the conclusion that Cliff is releasing any old tosh without listening to it first, isn't it?
