NIGHT NURSE QUITS ASH

CharlotteThe best thing ever to happen to Ash, Charlotte Hatherley, has quit the band. They've issued a statement:

"After nine years Ash and Charlotte Hatherley have mutually agreed to part company. The decision is completely amicable and they wish each other the very best for the future

Ash are returning to the studio later this year to make the follow up to 2004's 'Meltdown' album. Charlotte is currently recording tracks for her second solo album which she plans to release in the autumn this year."

The boys are at least relieved they can now break wind without having to worry about a lady being present. Tim has been holding one in since Charlotte joined in 1997.

In our opinion: Nowhere near enough people bought Charlotte's Grey Will Fade, although most of the songs were probably 50% longer than they needed to be.

Ash were so much better without her. Let's hope they return to 1977 form. I would love to see a revival of the harder-edged indie of yore like RFTC and Idlewild circa Hope Is Important days.
