Trent Reznor's secrets

So, yesterday we discovered if you played the new Nine Inch Nails album, it reveals some binary code. Someone with more time on their hands has translated the binary code, which will, if you understand these things, take you to exterminal.net, which is a bit of a joke at the RIAA's expense.

Wow. Trent's almost as edgy and-in your-face as that Manson bloke. Wouldn't like to be a minion of the RIAA when The Kids get a load of this.

If you think Mazza's still edgy or relevant, you should hear his new track. It's on his myspace, don't say I didn't warn you.

exterminal.net's not actually a message to the RIAA telling them where to go, it's actually part of the alternate reality game that's promoting Year Zero. The track itself is an inverted copy of the original off the CD, with a hidden message. Mix them together, there it is.

The new album's called "Year Zero"? Hahahahahahahaha! I'm beginning to think that's Reznor's entire career is an extended version of that SNL sketch "Goth Talk".

what do you mean "still edgy or relevant"? how on earth was an Alice Cooper/Kiss wannabe ever edgy or remotely relevant? It's not like either of these acts have ever done anything that hadn't been done before... In fact, this whole NIN-hates-RIAA thing is only getting attention because it happens to be a mainstream artist saying what thousands of independent acts have said for years... it's not that I don't like NIN or Manson, they've both had their moments of pop genius... but edgy? c'mon! (I've actually even been to see Manson live... oh dear... thousands of people who don't quite get the whole "he's actually a guy named Brian" thing... mmm)
