Mika: Why don't gays like me?

Mika has apparently been surprised and confused that gay audiences haven't flocked to worship him:

He's not as popular on the gay scene as he would like. He says, "I don't understand it. I've never taken sides on any gender. I like to confuse people but it would appear that the gay scene hasn't embraced my sound, or indeed, my look.

"I just hope all that can change in the future."

Perhaps, Mika, at a time when gays are being beaten up and arrested in Moscow, the gay audience are less attracted by your stupid hair and artfully chosen shirts, and more turned off by your pathetic "don't ask, don't tell" stance. Nobody cares if you're gay or you're straight, or bi, or asexual, but your current apparent treatment of being gay as some sort of birthmark to be covered up with tittering and "confusing" people is tiresome and weak, and offers power to those who would shove homosexuals back into a closet. You're currently the walking embodiment of what blokes mean when they say "I don't mind, so long as they don't force it down your throats." It's unlikely you'll be embraced by a gay fanbase while you're swinging on the closet door.

Oh shut up, He has claimed that he had never said this so please pay attention to where you get your sources from before you make such flippant comments.

Mika 4ever!

Well, I did say "apparently". You can only work on the basis of the sources and how trustworthy they are. ContactMusic are, generally, quite good at sorting the made-up from the factual, and that this quote was run by PerezHilton, a site that has been incredibly supportive of Mika, left it looking, on balance of probabilities, to be genuine.

I'm not sure why you thought I was being flippant, though. I'm actually deadly serious about Mika's pathetic treatment of sexuality as if it was something to be ashamed of. Or maybe he'd never said that, either. Perhaps he doesn't actually exist, and is just a figment of our imaginations.

Sadly, though, I don't think he is.
