Sub Pop taking orders for Vaselines return

Perhaps of slightly more use to you if you're in the US or trust transatlantic post, Sub Pop are taking pre-orders for the Vaselines return 7" Sex With An X.

Oh... and you do know that you can download Sex With An X from the Sub Pop site, don't you?

More forthcoming-record-news-excitement: SubPop are re-releasing Enter The Vaselines in May, in a luxury double-CD package. Which can sometime mean a disc full of old rubbish, but this being The Vaselines, has got a pretty delicious sounding listing:

Comebacks you actually might want: Vaselines reform?

That 20th anniversary Sub Pop party? There's a strong rumour that The Vaselines will be getting back together to play it.

Of course, it might not happen. But even a false rumour of The Vaselines playing again is better than the grinding reality of the resurrected Boyzone chugging about.

Twenty Years On

Dedicated to Tony Wilson, and worth your attention: Little 015 - NineteenEightyySeven. Nineteen bands from 2007 doing 19 tracks from 1987. One each, of course, it's not 361 tracks. Amongst those taking part are The Leatherettes and Beki & The Bullets; amongst the acts being updated are A-Ha, The Vaselines and - eek - Men Without Hats.
