BECK BACK

Perhaps the most extraordinary thing about the planned remix project of Beck's recent Guero album is not that he's got the likes of Boards of Canada and John King from the Dust Brothers in on the project; it's that there's a Beck album called Guero. You can't help but wonder if the remix hijinks is a desperate attempt to get people to notice the original.

It must be said there are more cynical promotion schemes though - at least we get something 'new'. This trend of putting one or two new tracks on greatest hits comps and releasing live CDs with old albums is far more evil. And wot no arctic monkeys posts on here simon - whats the NR&RF verdict?

I'm trying not to be too cynical about the Monkeys - I'm enjoying what I've heard so far, but the whole sudden overnight success from nowhere thing seems just a little bit too Hollywood...
