McGee shares his knowledge

The well-known seat of learning that is the University of Gloucestershire has signed up Alan McGee to be a visiting fellow, although its profile of him seems more impressed that he knows someone who knows someone who knows Courtney Love quite well:

In 1984, Creation Records started as a DIY bedroom based operation and signed the mighty Legend! Everett True who would late become friend and confidente of Kurt Cobain...

Still, they also make much of his ability to sign bands:
... the hip jesus-like Primal Scream and his own band Biff Bang Pow!

What, exactly, is "hip jesus-like"? Not to mention the vast kudos involved in signing, erm, a deal with yourself.

There's no mention of the terrible Elevation years, of course.
In 1992 Alan with his partner Dick Green, sold 49 percent of Creation Records to Sony. After the sale many were decrying the end of Alan McGee and Creation.

Do they mean "decrying" there, or "predicting"?
However, in 1993 Alan discovered Oasis. An excess of 27 million records sold world-wide made Creation one of the most influential and powerful record labels world-wide.

The implication that signing Oasis was somehow a justification for the strategy of taking the label to a major is as surprising as the suggestion that Creation was a "powerful record label" worldwide. How many overseas releases were there on Creation, exactly?

Still, if the expertise of Alan McGee isn't enough, students will also be able to suck down knowledge from his fellow visiting fellow Sybil Ruscoe.

I'd be more impressed with the credentials of the University of Gloucestershire if they could spell confidante.

People who can't write interviewing people who can't talk for people who can't read?

"dissembled" means "fibbed". I think they mean "dismantled".

Is the 'University' of Gloucestershire like a special school for over-18s?

as an alumnus of the university of gloucestershire (or cheltenham and gloucester college of higher education as it was in my day) i feel i should try and stand up for it's reputation here, however, you are all correct, it's a bit of a shithole.

i am surprised at the "hip jesus-like Primal Scream" bit though, the college was rly quite happy-clappy when i was there...

As an "alumnus of the university of gloucestershire" I feel you really should know that the possessive its doesn't take an apostrophe. ;-)
