Newton glories in wearing a scarf

The choice of lead story on Bizarre this morning might seem a little odd - even although the MTV excitement came a little late for the paper's deadlines, can a throwaway remark from Cheryl Cole really be the most important thing in the glittery world of stardom?

“[England supporters] need to get behind the boys more.

“We should be like the Liverpool fans. Their theory is the worse you are, the louder you shout. It makes a real difference.

“It can make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up when they start singing You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

What on Earth would make Newton pick this as the lead item for the day?

Oh, it's reflected glory, isn't it?
I ALWAYS knew CHERYL TWEEDY was a woman of impeccable taste.

The GIRLS ALOUD star has confessed that Liverpool footie fans — yours truly included — are the best in the game.

Ah, yes - the dedication of Liverpool fans is well-known. After all, most are still boycotting The Sun after it ran those lies about the crowd at Hillsborough, aren't they, Victoria?

Shouldn't she be calling her Cheryl Cole? She has been married for just over a year now
