THE GANG GETS BACK TOGETHER: After all this time in the "musical wilderness" (i.e. dicking about making a load of old tosh), prince seems to be keen to regain his crown as, um, the Crown Prince, by reminding us how good he was before he changed his name to (bad tattoo): he's done a one-off reunion with The Time and Sheila E. During a massive 20th Anniversary blow out, he also tempted Chaka Khan and Doug E Fresh to join him. And it's hard to read this bit of the report without snuffling:

The high-energy show ended on an emotional note as Prince performed "Purple Rain" and spotlighted drummer John Blackwell, whose 2-year-old daughter, Jia, accidentally drowned just days earlier. An emotional Blackwell pointed to the image of his little girl on his T-shirt, as Sheila E. embraced him and the band walked off the stage.
