THE PAY-OFF: Not so long back, it did seem that Girls Aloud were on the point of splitting back into their constituent parts of four checkout operators and a cabaret circuit singing career; then, all of a sudden, the appeared to pull together. We wonder if the news that they're to be bunged half a million quid each (we're guessing not actually that much, really) was what persuaded them to stay together?



One thing, though - the Ananova headline says "£500k"; the report, though, keeps mentioning the figure of £500,00 (sic) - in other words, five hundred quid written by a Parisian. Let's hope they're not too disappointed.
