A MEETING OF MINDS: We're attempting to try and contain our excitement at the news that Westlife are going to record with Jessica Simpson. We were especially taken with "an insider's comments" recalling a previousd pairing of the Blandy Bunch with that year's model:

"The band will be going into the studio in July and can't wait. Jessica's a real character and is huge in America," says our insider. "She's also lucky that Brian McFadden isn't in the band as when they did a duet with Mariah Carey a few years ago, you could see him on the video ogling her cleavage."

To be fair to Brian, to be in a room with Carey and not be transfixed by the twin testaments to the superior power of American engineering would be like sharing a railway carriage with an elephant and not looking at the nose.
