KINESIS RUN OUT OF ENERGY

It's one of the cast-iron rules of pop: if you've split up, don't mention it until after you launch your new album. Kinesis, however, issued the splitting up statement before the distribution lorry had left the warehouse. It's not that the world wasn't interested, apparently; just they were ahead of their time:

"Perhaps we were ahead of our time,'' explains Kinesis guitarist Conor McGloin. "But we were young when we got signed and people took advantage of us. We tried and failed but, if we leave anything, judge us by that last album. We're happy that we never made a bad record. We haven't let the spirit of the band down at all.''

You can buy the farewell album from tomorrow.
