BABYSHAMBLES MELTDOWN COUNTDOWN: ALBARN CAMPAIGNS AGAINST DOHERTY
Actually, we're suspecting that Damon's claims he's starting a Make Doherty History campaign is a gag, although we wouldn't put anything past Mr. Albarn; he might be on the phone getting some wristbands made even as we speak.
Damon's main beef is that Doherty turned up and disrespected Elton John at Live8:
"The concert was all about raising awareness, but Peter looked like he was having trouble raising his own awareness. He looked wasted.
"He's a mess. I'm starting a campaign to Make Doherty History."
To be fair to Pete, nobody seems to be working harder to make him history than he is himself.

Oooh, that hilarious Mr Albarn and not Alburn or Alborn as he'd been called by some online news sites who were so concerned with getting the news on the site they didn't bother checking the name of the person who came up with the withering quip.
It would of course have been even funnier if Private Eye hadn't had it on the front cover 3 weeks ago and it hadn't been a winning entry in a Times caption competition 2 weeks ago.
Still, well done Mr Albumen, it would appear that wit is a dish best served slightly cooler than lukewarm.
