VENUEWATCH: Victoria Inn, Derby under threat
In one of those "improvement plans" that councils sometimes come up with when they're casting about for land to flog off to developers, Derby has decided to introduce a plan which would mean the loss of the Victoria Inn venue. The City Centre Eastern Fringes Area Action Plan is supposed to make the bit around Derby Station seem more "attractive" to people arriving at the station. The Inn is attempting to fight back, and we wish them luck.

I wish the Inn luck also...
You have a riveting web log
and undoubtedly must have
atypical & quiescent potential
for your intended readership.
May I suggest that you do
everything in your power to
honor your Designer/Architect
as well as your audience.
Please remember to never
restrict anyone's opportunities
for ascertaining uninterrupted
existence for their quintessence.
Best wishes for continued ascendancy,

P.S. Your blog's new "Word Verification"
process is a good idea but a dyslexic
person's nightmare...
I think I'm going to copy Mr. Thought & Humor's comment and hang it on my cubicle wall. I may even frame it.

You write this crap ALL DAY!!! Do you have a job???
It truly is a shame when Da Gubmint steals your livelihood and calls it progress. Hope you are successful!
This is terrible news! I had the grave misfortune to be born in Derbyshire, and the Victoria is one of the few decent venues in the city. The Derby redevelopment is specifically designed to wipe out any individuality the city ever had.
Keep up the good work- it's only you and popbitch (and the occaisional Mil Millington newsletter) that keep me from having to work for a living. And don't forget to say hi to our designer/architect. She says you never write or call, and always forget your scarf on cold mornings.
