NOTHING BUT TOTAL RESPECT FOR ANNIE LENNOX
Annie Lennox is equally grumpy when it comes to this modern music - she doesn't like the X-Factor, which is "just Tescos" and isn't fond of anyone else, much:
Eurythmics star Annie Lennox has criticised the state of today's pop music, saying many acts are like sheep.
She said: "What concerns me is that people follow like sheep ... that's the dross.
Yeah... bands who have little more about them than a pretty singer, some styled clothes, and a cheapy cover version to cash in as quickly as possible? Remind us, Annie, what was the song that gave you the break in music? Would it have been a cover of I Only Want To Be With You?

And I bet she doesn't know where things are in B&Q.

hooray. it's k-fed 'rapping' about being k-fed...
Sorry, Simon, can't agree with you there.
I know all too well how the wanna be Pop Idols chirp their undying respect for Lennox and her contemporaries. It's damn annoying.
But the Tourists single was far from her 'big break'. Twas a good few years until she enjoyed any kind of lasting fame, and even then it was thanks to some original, innovative material.
If I'd have known she'd have said I'd have slashed my wrists.
I know what you're saying, Mackla, but without the Tourists, RCA would never have bothered to sign the Eurythmics; there was, yes, one Eurythmics album which didn't do anything much, but the press still buzzed about them because of the Tourists connection. She did make good use of the starting blocks, but without the cheesy pop cover, the Eurythmics wouldn't have stood a chance.
