MONKEYS BOOT WARD

Isn't the backlash here yet? The Arctic Monkeys have bounced up to Number One this week, leaving the latter day Stooges (as in "three", not "Iggy and the") of BIG, Diddy and Nelly, Will Young and Beyonce trailing in their wake. Shayne Ward, who has basically been housesitting in the charts while everyone else has been on holiday, has started to return to his old life with a drop to number five.

And what do the BBC use to explain the Monkey's success?

The rockers have a large fanbase thanks to the marketing power of the internet.

More interesting, though, is the album chart, where Hard-Fi have risen to number one and Editors - yes, Editors - are number two. Blimey.

Yes, but Aaron, it doesn't matter. They use the internet, you know. ;)
