CLIFFORD TRIES TO REFLOAT KATONA

Downward spiralling Kerry Katona has been cautioned after beating up a girl in Warrington's Panama Jacks (hey, she can't have classy Iceland-catered parties all the time) last weekend. Max Clifford has ridden to her rescue:
Publicist Max Clifford claimed Kerry acted in self-defence. He said: "A girl who used to have the same foster parents as Kerry came up to her and started abusing her.

"Kerry said: 'Look love, it's not my fault you're drunk or ugly.' The girl then went for Kerry and she hit her in self defence."

Interesting. Max doesn't explain why, if Katona was acting in self-defence, she accepted a caution - an admission of guilt, of course. Surely if she had no choice, she should have insisted on being given the chance to clear her good name in court. How very mysterious.
