Celeb Whigfield: Doris Day

Normally, when a celebrity who's alive and well is marked off as dead and buried, it's down to the internet. The greatly-exaggerated death of Doris Day, though, is a bit more exotic: Pete Townshend included her in a list song of dead celebrities, Mirror Door. (Which is, of course, a bit like Endless Art by A House.) Day gets sandwiched between Dave Van Ronk and Bobby Darin, but is, of course, still alive:

"I was absolutely convinced she was dead" [said Pete]

Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

What we always liked about Endless Art was the way they included the years of birth and death, to prove they'd looked these things up in a book and not just thrown down the first names they'd thought of.
