Pop stars locked up for swearing

Yes, it's hard to believe - singers dragged away by the cops because they said "fuck". They'll be doing them for drugs and whatnot next, at this rate.

It's doubly unfair, because when Francine and Nicola Gleadall swore at fans during a live performance at half time during the Sheffield Wednesday - Barnsley match, they were only giving as good as they got.

It seems that "spectators complained" and so the girls were arrested, and given a £60 fine. Spectators complained? Really? Who on earth would be shocked to hear someone say fuck in a football ground? And were these outraged spectators any more or less shocked by the abuse that Barnsley fans had been throwing at two teenage girls?

It's of no consequence that Francine and Nicola's largest public performance hitherto was as shepherds.

My favourite bit isn't in that report - one of them was quoted "We didn't mean any harm. We do most of our gigs at schools and never have a problem." I'm not sure the implication is intended to be that modern Year Eight kids can take any amount of singers swearing, but...

Ah, but their response, suitably amplified, would have been audible throughout all areas of the ground, including the designated family areas.

Anyway, isn't covering cum on feel the noize an arrestable offence now, after Oasis did it?

i am friends with the 2 girls and they are nice and would not have meant any harm..it was a natural reaction and btw they recived an £80 fine not £60..so if you are going to post things atleast get the facts right.
