Breaking: Doherty keeps out of jail
BBC News are reporting that Pete Doherty's latest drugs possesion charges have resulted in a fine rather than imprisonment. It's unclear if he's the lucky sod beneficiary of an open-minded bench who believe that sending addicts to jail makes their problems worse, or merely the overcrowding of the British jails.
