Microsoft shoots for the Zune
Nobody ever got to the moon by lacking ambition.
On the other hand, nobody ever got to the moon simply by closing their eyes and saying "I'm going to the moon next week."
Microsoft have announced their sales expectations for the Zune - a million sold by June, a solid number two to the iPod, eventually overhauling Apple's player when they get round to rolling out some other models and flogging them overseas.
They've got a bit of a hill to climb: In the key post-Thanksgiving week in the US, the traditional start of Christmas shopping, the Zune slipped from the second place it had managed in its first two weeks to be the fifth-best selling mp3 player in the US.
It's unlikely such a slow performance will inspire a wide range of third-party extras to be developed, without which the Zune will struggle to push forward extra sales.
It's far from clear if they've sold any of the disgusting brown ones yet at all.

I've got a brown one, and I think it's very pretty :(
Aren't you meant to be pushing Vista at the moment, Mr. Gates?
