When formats wear-out

PR must be a strange world to work in; we've just received an email which has had to try and work up excitement over the latest (over-)extension of the MTV Unplugged franchise:

They're getting Korn to do one. On the apparent basis that the Alicia Keys one went down well, so why not?

"We are excited for “MTV Unplugged: KORN” as this series has always resonated with both our audience, by connecting them to their favorite artists through a unique format, and with the artists themselves, who have always loved the series for its ability to provide a more intimate look at their music,” said Christina Norman, President, MTV. “Given the success of our most recent multi-platform presentation of the series with Alicia Keys, “MTV Unplugged: KORN” will offer fans multiple touchpoints and ways to enjoy the band’s performance."

Multiple touchpoints, eh? Just fancy.
