I was envying his death

It suits his curmudgeonly nature to know that Morrissey has picked out his burial spot. He wants to be near Johnny Ramone in the Los Angeles cemetery.

But it's a bit dispiriting to know the cemetery gates he's picking are in California. We always thought when he died, they'd find Wythenshaw or Eccles if not emblazoned on his heart, then at least getting a look-in in the funeral notice. It's a bit like Ena Sharples wanting to be laid to rest near Jim Morrison in Paris.
