We wouldn't set your Sky+ just yet

When we were doing yesterday morning's slew of pop gossip, The Sun online was, erm, offline - as it turned out it was getting a new-ish look. Which, considering last week it picked up an award from the Online Publishers Association for best-designed online newspaper is slightly awkward timing; like Chantelle and Preston being presented with a 'happiest couple' prize and feeling obliged to take it, knowing they've already stuck 'his' and 'hers' labels on everything back at the house.

Anyway, now they're back up we're able to read the slightly surprising news that Michael Jackson is supposedly going to appear on the X Factor, mentoring one of the teams.

Really? Michael Jackson giving advice on how to manage your career to young popstars? It's like the head of Northern Rock appearing on Money Box Live with investment tips.

And would Jackson really want to make his TV return on ITV? Didn't he try that before when he did Martin Bashir and Living With Michael Jackson - that didn't end up all that happily for Jacko, did it?
