EMI drafts petrol-and-food woman onto board

The confused EMI year-zero continues, with Pat O'Driscoll being pulled onto the board.

Her role?

Pat, who prior to Northern Foods held a number of senior roles within Shell’s retail businesses, will work with the EMI in assessing the talent within the EMI Group and assisting with the Group’s culture change.

Hmm. So, she's bringing her knowledge of Ginster's pasties as forecourt food to "assess the talent" in a record label. Now, she might be good at it, but since "Shell's retail businesses" connection with music runs as far as a dump-box of Greatest Hits CDs performed by soundalike bands next to the anti-freeze, she's not got much a track record to inspire with.
