Crow lines up for Mac

Sheryl Crow is going to be working with Fleetwood Mac at some point soon, she, erm, hasn't quite announced:

"I don't want to make any official announcements, but I will say that we definitely have plans for collaborating in the future, and we'll see what happens."

Of course, she could have made herself clearer, but if you're going to work with Stevie Nicks, you probably want to avoid being too comprehensible.

Heh heh heh ...

But seriously, I must say a good word for Nicks here. I can't stand her music, and I think she's earned a lot of the ridicule she gets. But I can tell you this:

Last year a childhood friend of mine was extremely badly hurt in Iraq. When he arrived at Walter Reed hospital, having left half his limbs and a good portion of his gut behind, one of the first non-family visitors he had was Stevie Nicks. She sat and talked with him and his parents for quite a while, and gave him a fully-loaded Ipod (not loaded with her own songs, mercifully). I don't even think he's a particular fan of hers, but her visit gave him a real boost at a very, very low point. Apparently she regularly does this for the soldiers at Walter Reed, and doesn't seek a lot of publicity either -- I told several Fleetwood Mac fans what she had done, and they had never heard of it before.

So, credit where credit's due. We now return to our regularly scheduled snark!
