Stipe is haunted by Kurt
Michael Stipe has trouble shaking off the blues when he tries to listen to Nirvana records:
"He had reached a point where he was about to push through to something that was so phenomenal and so beautiful.
"It was all written, it was all right there and it was so obvious where he was going, and then he didn’t make it.
"I still have trouble - I can’t listen to an entire Nirvana record."
"It was all written, it was all right there and it was so obvious where he was going, and then he didn’t make it.
"I still have trouble - I can’t listen to an entire Nirvana record."
Similarly, these days most people have trouble making it all the way through an REM album.

i love xrrf simon, but this, quite frankly, is a bit low. it reads like a self-parody. your bile should be reserved for those that truly deserve it
Aw, c'mon - saying that REM albums aren't as good as they were back in the IRS years is hardly bilious, is it?
of course not (up is the only post-automatic album i have any interest in listening to ever again...ebow the letter excepted), but the guy's talking in a fairly frank emotional way about someone's DEATH, for god's sake. something which doesnt have anything to do with the quality of recent rem albums. it would be fine if what you had said was actually witty (which 9 times out of 10 you are), but basically here you just said "yeah...but you're RUBBISH"
