MySpace: erecting paywalls where the whim takes them

A few weeks back, there was the story of how MySpace had taken down Edwyn Collins' own music because, surely, they had to be copyright protected. Now, Cath Carroll is similarly being 'protected', as she reports on Twitter:

Ah, the efficiency of MySpace. First am erroneously blocked from posting own work, which had been licensed to WMG on a v limited basis.

Now, in a frenzy of blood loyalty, MySpace are blocking all versions of this work, none of which have ever been near WMG.

The record industry is going to be helping Virgin identify "illegal" files in its customers' communications. God help us all.
