Kings Of Leon: something exciting happens during set

Last night, Kings Of Leon were playing St Louis, when an unexpected and interesting event happened: A pigeon pooped in Jared Fallowill's mouth.

Now, however funny that might be, it's clearly not pleasant. You might want to nip off stage, have a quick gargle, maybe drink something to take the taste away. A brief intermission - or possibly just leave the other guys to get on with it while you took care of the mouth.

The Kings Of Leon, though, decided that this was such a terrible thing they trooped off the stage, and didn't come back on.

Three songs in to the set, mind. This Is Fake DIY reports they took to Twitter:

“So sorry St. Louis. We had to bail, pigeons shitting in jareds mouth and it was too unsanitary to continue,”
[...]
“Don't take it out on Jared, it's the ****ing venues fault. You may enjoy being shit on but we don't. Sorry for all who travelled many miles.”
Was the band really convinced that if they'd stayed on stage, they would have continued to eat bird poo? If things were that bad, wouldn't they have spotted it during soundcheck?

Definitely agree with you here. But, fame changes people.

I was at that concert last night and what was so frustrating was that the band did not even acknowledge the fans before they ran out of the venue like it was on fire. They didn't say thank you for your support and thank you for coming or anything...they just left. But now that I know the reason that they cancelled the concert I'm even more disappointed. It's a little early for them to become divas. I'm no longer a fan.

Many many bands have played at that venue without this ever happening. I was there and can only say they just walked off abruptly after three songs. The Stills played a full set before so at least i heard some music. If you are going to see them outdoors beware, they cannot take the heat!!

I was in that crowd of disappointed fans. So said that they care so little for their followers that they would cancel the show for such a lame reason. When "The Stills" were playing before them, one of their bandmates got shit on too, but they continued to play and joked about it. Seems to me that they could have had someone in their crew climb the already accessible ladder to scare the birds away. Whatever the reason they want to claim, they lost alot of fans last night. We paid good money, drove over 3 hours to see them, and get sent away after 3 songs? Wow! Won't be buying any of their cds, tickets, etc...

I was at the concert last night and was so disappointed that this happened. The first 3 songs they did were awesome and then they just left! I wish that KOL couldve said something to apoligize and not the workers of the venue. And id much rather have a make up show then get my money back because there music is AMAZING!
