Radio One completes the journey

Back - what, twenty five years ago? - the NME ran a front page story claiming black music in Britain didn't stand a chance, in a large part because daytime Radio One never played any black artists.

Today, NME.com's Luke Lewis is worrying that white guitar bands are struggling to be heard, because they don't stand a chance of getting on the Radio One playlist.

there's currently in the region of 10 to 15 'white guitar bands' on the Radio One playlist. considering the general public doesn't like it, that seems like a lot to me.
