This is pretty exciting news: Black Box Recorder are playing live in London, February 18th, at the Luminaire. "Please" requests the flier, "dress smartly". That's me buggered, then.

Luke Haines goes to Argos for Christmas

That sound? That's Malcolm Middleton getting some competition in the least-likely Christmas number one stakes, as Black Arts announces its Christmas Number One contender, called, erm, Christmas Number One.

Black Arts? Oh, yes: a combination of the fire power of Black Box Recorder and Eddie Argos. It's coming out on December 3rd.

And no sooner had we placed the new Pop Papers on the griddle than Rachel Ravey - owner of the most lovely hair - got in touch to say that not only does she read and enjoy Jack, but the "never before on CD" track Rock and Roll Suicide turned up on the Art of Driving CD single.

Rejoice, rejoice

There's very few things which count as Unquestionably Good Things, especially after we've put our pyjamas on and waited for the sky to fall. A new Black Box Recorder album, however, is one of them - due February 2003.
