Bush might be re-shaped

There is, reports Gavin Rossdale a "quite high" chance of Bush reforming. He bases his prediction on a mixture of science and astrology, focusing especially on how often he now gets referred to as "Gwen Stefani's husband" and the level of interest in the concept of "Gwen Stefani's husband's solo career".

Gavin Rossdale gets his chance

You might have been wondering what Gavin Rossdale's been up to recently.

Oh, come on, you might. Perhaps in case it comes up on an end-of-term quiz or something.

It turns out, he's been busy working on a debut solo album. A source told the Mirror:

"Gwen loves London so she doesn't mind staying here while Gav promotes the album. After months looking after their 19-month-old son — Kingston — it's Gav's turn to go out and bring home the bacon."

Normally, "bringing home the bacon" is a term which means "spend some time as the main wage earner in the household", but in this case, bearing in mind the likely demand for a solo album from the singer out of Bush, the source probably does mean it literally. There might be enough for half a dozen eggs, too.

Luckily, Gwen's combination of in-demand back catalogue, fashion line and perfume ranges means that the family will continue to tick over while Gavin has a go.

Bush grows back

It's not just the Spice Girls and The Verve. Oh no, apparently Bush could be reuniting, initially for Live Earth the weekend after next.

Gavin Rossdale said he was tired of being known for being married to Gwen ("let slip some hints"):

He told DJ Ryan Seacrest, "I kinda miss the band thing. I loved being in the band. It's kind of like a team."

And as for the rumours Bush are among the surprise acts at Live Earth on 7 July (07), Rossdale said, "I'm in... There could be some truth in it, I'm up for it."

The crueller amongst us might suggest that if the best surprise Live Earth can pull is a Bush reunion, the organisers of the event should follow the example of the Istanbul team.

Emerging from the Bush

Let's try and pretend that what's interesting about Gavin Rossdale is his helmsmanship of Bush and not who he happens to be married to, and at least do the man the politeness of showing an interest in his forthcoming solo record, shall we:

“I am about to go in and record my first solo record. I am working with producer Bob Rock. We have a great band to do the record and we start next week.

“We’ll do half the record in LA and the other half in Hawaii, where Rock lives on the north shore. So as you can imagine, I’m pretty excited about that.”

And we're sure the record will be brilliant as he must be full of ideas for it. After all, it's not like he used many up making the same Bush record over and over again, is it?
