Me, Myself And Hannibal: Beyonce does a Gadaffi Gig

Surely the problem with Beyonce taking two million dollars to play a private gig for Hannibal Gadaffi (son of the more infamous Muammar) is less that she's playing a date for Libya - only three people in the world still believe that Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi was responsible for the Lockerbie bomb - but more about how grasping it looks.

Seriously, Beyonce, you're really up for sale like that? Doesn't the shine rub off stars when they behave like they're taxi cabs or showbiz tat for sale on eBay?

It turns out that two million doesn't even guarantee total exclusivity - a bit of the date has turned up on YouTube. Do you suppose that Beyonce's skintight PVC outfit was part of the deal?

George Michael: Yours for £1.5million

I'm betting that George Michael might find the already-limited market for gigs at one and a half million quid a pop is shrinking somewhat, so it's probably wise that he did a couple when the demand was there.

Mind you, if I was paying that for a George Michael gig, I'd be insisting I got the tiny-white-trunks-in-a-shower George Michael, rather than the falling-asleep-in-a-car- version. You do wonder how much extra it would take to get Andrew Ridgeley on board - a tenner for Andrew, another half million for George?

Nena no-no

A post about KajaGooGoo followed by one about Nena. It's 2007, by the way, everybody.

Anyway, Nena is facing a legal letter and possible court appearance after a corporate for German insurance company Allianz went badly wrong. That's 'wrong' as in 'turned up drunk, insulted the company, insulted the suits, and failed to give out a bag with free copies of the Daily Express'. Winningly, Allianz only wants half its money back - presumably, as an insurance company, it knew the risks when they hired her.
