V festival bill continues to crumble

Winehouse is probably out; Allen says she's in, but you can't be sure. Bright Eyes have gone. They're predicting it's going to tip down.

And now The Bravery have pulled out of the V festival.

There's no explanation as to why and, since they've been replaced by the-not-exactly-similar Robyn, it doesn't seem like V organisers could even be bothered any more.

Bravery wish they hadn't beefed with the Killers

The interesting-enough-when-theres-no-Springwatch battle between The Bravery and My Little U2 ("the Killers") seems to be drawing to an end, with the Bravery wishing the thing had never started. Sam Endicott calls a halt:

It all started when [Brandon Flowers] started talking shit about us, and we responded. Now, I just regret the whole thing even happened."

Although having got a few good column inches out the battle, we note that Endicott was happy to call a halt while he had something to promote.

SXSW comes to you

Here's a new spin-off from the festival scene: The take-away fest. Or, at least, a series of packaged back-and-on-stage bits from SXSW. There's a trailer for the first installment, featuring Peter Bjorn & John, Polyphonic Spree and The Bravery; at first, the idea is for theatre release, but we imagine DVD rights are being battled over even as we speak.

Bravery look back, go forward

We're not entirely convinced by the new Bravery single, Time Won't Let Me Go. It's alright, and includes a metatextual reference to Bryan Adams, but it feels a little ploddy, a little ordinary. In fact, it sounds a little mid-life-crisisy. But don't take our word for it, listen to the thing. [WindowsMedia, I'm afraid]

That's the way to do it: The Bravery have an album, probably due sometime round May, but rather than waiting for it to leak or seap, they're streaming the whole thing from their website. It's a primitive sort of streaming, but it works.
