HIS MASTERS' VOICE - 'HOME BOY': HMV has announced it's pulling out of America, with the closure of its last three US stores. Experts harried out of bed by Reuters put the blame for the failure of the Transatlantic episode down to HMV changing its management too often, and that its launch thunder was eclipsed almost instantly by the arrival of Virgin, hot on its heels. Its deepest problem was an inability to understand the Real Estate market in the US, saddling HMV with huge occupancy costs that meant none of its stores apparently managed to turn a single profit.
