MATRIARCHOBIT: Olive Osmond, the mother of Donnie, Marie, Little Jimmy and all the other Osmonds, and Grandmother of the Osmond Boys, died on Sunday, aged 79. She suffered a massive stroke two years ago and never fully recovered. Olive founded the Osmond Foundation, which has raised almost three billion dollars for sick children - it nowadays trades as The Children's Miracle Network - and published cookbooks. According to the official Osmond site, amongst her bon mots were "Be still" and "Hoe to the end of the row." (The latter, of course, is a favourite with photographers doing Girls Aloud sessions).
