THE SQUEAKY GATES DON'T ALWAYS GET THE OIL: It's been a while since Gareth Gates popped up, hasn't it? But the reason for his absence from our radios, televisions and, yes, our thoughts has now been revealed: his comeback is going to be "rockier" and, as such, Gates has been trying to grow some designer stubble. But surely that would only have taken him about three months? Where's he been for the other nine?
