INSURANCE JOB: Britney is having a bit of trouble with her insurance people. When her knee gave out during the Onyx Hotel tour, her management rumaged around in the document drawer in the sideboard to make a claim on the insurance. To their horror, the insurance companies chose not to pay out, pointing out that when the insurance had been taken out, Britney had saod she hadn't had surgery within the past five years. And even if you believe that the breasts are the ones she had when she was 18, she'd still had knee surgery four years, eleven months earlier. Britney said she's "forgotten" the surgery - because in her line of business, you might forget having an operation that could, if it had gone wrong, buggered your career while you were still a teenager.

Britney Inc. is suing the insurers, though, on the slightly odd grounds that they'd insured her in the past knowing about the surgery. Which doesn't really seem to be an argument to us.
