MIKE LOVE BETTER HAVE AN ALIBI

It's only been a few weeks since it was officially unveiled, but the Beach Boys state monument in California has been the subject of rude daubings. The city don't seem that surprised, just disappointed:

"I'm disappointed but not surprised. We knew (vandalism) would be an issue. I'm surprised it's gone this long without being tagged," said Harry Jarnagan, the Tracy construction engineer who led the drive to build the memorial dedicated May 21.

They're now talking about taking steps to make the monument vandal-proof, which seems odd: if they were expecting the memorial to the Wilson boy's boyhood home to be a graffiti target, why didn't they protect it from the off?

In other news, Mike Love has been asking around if anyone knows if it's okay to use Sugar Soap to get paint off your hands.
