Apparently, Geldof has listened to the complaints about the lack of any African involvement in Live 8, and has taken on Peter Gabriel to shake-up some WOMADy types for the events - although they're going to be sidelined off into the Scottish side gig; it's an attempt to head off a breakaway gig that was being rumoured. Even so, by Geldof's own admission, it was Gabriel who made the offer rather than Bob. In another clarification, it looks like Bob has quietly dropped himself from the line-up for Hyde Park - something he couldn't have done with a straight face while insisting that a presence on the bill was about how many records you've sold.
